Aiden Pettet

Lecturer in Paramedic Science

I joined the ambulance service back in 2000 and qualified as a paramedic in 2005 and have remained dedicated to clinical practice since. I have worked for both East of England Ambulance Service and South-Central Ambulance Service undertaking roles of senior paramedic, practice placement educator, clinical supervisor and clinical educator. I have previously held the position of paramedic science lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, Oxford Brookes University and Open University. I now work as an advanced clinical practitioner in emergency medicine at Northampton General Hospital working at junior registrar (ST3) level. Concurrently, I am reading for a Doctorate in Professional Practice with my research focused on racial and ethnic disparities in prehospital care provision.

I am keen to share my knowledge and expertise with aspiring paramedics using mixed pedagogical approaches that will endeavor to bridge the theory-practice gap for paramedics of the future.
