Dr Pavlos Kasdovasilis
Lecturer in Psychology
I am a Lecturer in Psychology with a specialty in Health and Medicine.
I initially joined the University of Bedfordshire for my BSc and MSc in Health Psychology. I then joined UCLan to complete a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Studies in the Department of Medicine.
My background and teaching interests include mental health of front line staff, qualitative reviews, exploration of emotions, and the interrelationship between health and wellbeing.
After spending approximately 10 years working within the industry (e.g., Charities, Private Hospitals, Mental Health Wards, NHS) I have made the decision to work within academia in order to train the new therapists and give them an insight into how the industry works.
I still work as a consultant within the industry with various hospitals and private healthcare organisations assessing their services and providing input in order to improve the overall quality of services offered to service users or staff members.
My research interests lie in exploring lived experiences of staff members within the healthcare sector as well as service users and/or patients.
Currently, I am working towards my Stage 2 accreditation in Health Psychology with the British Psychological Society.
