Tower of Hanoi
The Tower of Hanoi is one of the tools used to demonstrate and research the areas of Problem Solving– a higher order cognitive process, and involves insight learning and concept formation.
It is extremely sensitive to frontal lobe deficits, and is a common task used by neuropsychologists in evaluating the cognitive functioning of patients with frontal lobe damage, including those with traumatic head injuries, Huntington’s Disease, schizophrenics , cerebellar patients etc.
