Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing

I have been in practice as a Registered Nurse for over two decades. I am registered as an Adult Nurse and Nurse Teacher with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC).

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, both in the acute NHS Trust and in the community. My background is Renal Nursing. My role involved supporting patients with Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic Kidney Diseases, renal dialysis, kidney transplantation and renal supportive care. My area of expertise is in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and I am highly experience in training nursing staff and patients to carry out independent PD at home.

I have always enjoyed teaching. I constantly adapt my teaching and learning strategies to match with the learners’ ability. In 2015, I took the position as a Clinical Practice Educator. In this role, I led on the clinical and professional development of the registered and unregistered nursing staff and student nurses whilst promoting best clinical practice in patient care.

I was awarded the MA in Education in 2018. My Master’s project explored the Nurse Mentors’ perception to Newly Employed Registered Nurses’ orientation process.

I joined the University of Bedfordshire as Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing in 2022. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience to aspiring future nurses.

Enhanced Patients Care Framework Level 1 Competency- Trustwide initiative following the Covid 19 pandemic to upskill all nursing staff who work in the acute clinical areas. Represented the Directorate of Renal Services in ensuring staff receives the appropriate training to achieve the competencies (2022)
