Jane Kemp

A qualified nurse since 1985 with vast experience working within acute trusts fulfilling various responsibilities and positions.

Since entering a Nursing career has gained many teaching experiences which led to the joining of a busy acute trust training and development team.

As a trainer assigned and responsible to develop schemes for implementing induction training of new support staff, NVQ centre coordination, Clinical training for qualified staff, Pre professional lead responsible for supporting HCA’s through NVQ and apprenticeship training, supporting the UOB with the implementation of the Foundation degree.

In 2009 became the pre-registration lead for the trust. This incumbent responsibility involved ensuring that the trust was in a position to meet all the external quality assurance measures relating to all education that is set down by the NMC HEE and other regulatory bodies.

The obligation and responsibility involved supporting all students, from all fields of practice, studying a health practice course at the University of Bedfordshire. Supporting and aiding mentors to furnish a valuable learning experience and assessment of practice to students.

During 2015 transferred in to higher education as lead for the Essential Skills and Practice unit. This position allows the experience to enjoy seeing the development of student nurses as they grasp and develop the essential and varied skills that allow them to confidently and professionally perform on a daily basis throughout their careers. This unit gives them the fundamental skills for delivering person centred care throughout their time within the nursing profession and beyond.
