Jacqueline England

I am an experienced acute care nurse and educator having qualified in September 1980.

I became interested in teaching during my 20 years in practice and qualified as a teacher with and MA in Health Professional Education whilst working full time as a Night Sister in 1998.

I entered higher education as a Tutor in 1997 at the University of Surrey where I became a Deputy Director of Studies for the Nursing programmes.

I moved to work in Cyprus in 2009 and, as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Nicosia, I developed and set up the first Simulation Centre in Cyprus. I came to the University of Bedfordshire as Senior Lecturer in 2011. I am particularly interested in developing and improving inter-professional practice through the use of simulation.

I have presented at a range of international conferences on simulation in inter-professional education and assessment. I was appointed as Simulation Development Officer for the East of England region, working on a National project, funded by the Higher Education Academy/ASPiH in September 2012 results of which have been published.

I am the Simulation and Inter-professional Learning Lead at the University of Bedfordshire and am currently working with colleagues across the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and the wider University in developing and strengthening inter-professional education through the use of simulation.

As Acting Principal Lecturer for Apprenticeships in the School I work with partnership Trusts to establish support for the Apprentices in Healthcare.
