Andrea Thompson
Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator - Operating Department Practice
I joined the University of Bedfordshire in June 2015 to teach on the Operating Department Practice course.
I am an Operating Department Practitioner with 16 years’ experience in theatres and critical care environments. I am now one of the senior lecturers on the course and very much enjoy teaching and coaching students to develop into caring and competent practitioners.
My specific interests lie in the Post Anaesthesia care environment and in the management of patients with complex care needs. I hold a current registration and still practice in the clinical environment providing hands on care to patients throughout their perioperative journey.
