Peter Akinsowon

Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management

Peter Akinsowon is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the University of Bedfordshire, Luton. Prior to this, he has worked at Anglia Ruskin University, London; the University of Greenwich, Business School, London and at Regent’s University, London where he served as a Post Graduate Module Leader in Entrepreneurial Research between 2014/2015. He has taught at Greenwich School of Management, London and at Icon College of Management & Technology, London. He used to be the Module Leader for Resourcing the Organisation (RTO) for well over 3 years at Anglia Ruskin University London.

Peter holds a PhD degree in Management. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviours. He has been a qualified HE Lecturer for more than 16 years now and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development for more than 15 years. His areas of speciality are employee commitment and turnover intention in the public sector organisations.

Furthermore, Peter is a lawyer and he has worked as a HR manager before joining the academic sector. He is also a member of the British Academy of Management- where he has a number of publications in the BAM journal over the years. Peter was nominated at his former place of work by students’ body for the MADE A DIFFERENCE AWARD for inclusivity award last year 2020. Peter has a considerable number of years of experience teaching on the PEARSON courses for different Colleges in and around London.

Peter is a strong communicator, a tolerant and one who possesses a-go-get-it-attitude towards life. He is a keen advocate of fairness and justice for all, irrespective of one’s background or orientation. He is a meticulous individual who has helped to make significant contributions to students’ development over the years. Peter is research active. In addition, Peter has supervised a considerable number of students’ dissertations both at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels over the years.
