Stephen Cox

I am a former Science and Drama teacher with 15 years’ experience of teach both subject across Key stage 3, 4 and 5 including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Science. As a Scientist my specialism is Biology (ecology) and within Drama I specialise in physicality, movement and physical theatre. The combination of these two subject have given me a unique view point and skill set within teaching.

Throughout my teaching career I have worked in Northamptonshire based school, having experience various roles such as subject leads, head of department and head of year, as well as being an in school mentor for many years before taking on my current role at the university of Bedfordshire.

I am currently teach on and the lead mentor for the PGCE secondary education science course. In this role I am very lucky to be able to share my knowledge, passion, enthusiasm and unique experiences within education while also being able to keep up to date with new research. Additionally I am able to support trainee develop their teaching practice in their subject area and deliver specific elements of pedagogical knowledge.

  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HFEA)
  • National professional qualification in Middle leadership (NPQML)
  • Advance diploma in Teaching Performing Arts (ADPA)
