Dr Malini Mistry
Senior Lecturer in Education
I started my career working as a primary school teacher and gained experience across all year groups.
Whilst working in the primary sector, I managed and led many areas of learning in the curriculum including ICT, History, Geography, RE and Early Years. Additionally, I was part of the Senior Leadership Team alongside responsibility for Key Stage 2.
I came to the University of Bedfordshire in 2005 where I became passionate about Early Years and Professional Studies for different year groups on the Early Years and primary QTS courses. Over time, this passion has also extended into the field of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Over time, I have led and managed many units such as: Child Development, Geography, Science, Religious Education (RE), School Experience for Year 2 students, Dissertation and more recently the exploration of subjects in the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) on the primary and Early Years QTS courses. I have worked as part of a team for other units such as Meeting Needs of Children and SEND. In addition, I have also worked as part of a team on the Primary PGCE course for units such as Research Informed Teaching and the Reflective Practitioner.
