Becca Dunkley
Lecturer in Primary Education
I am a Lecturer in Primary Education at the University of Bedfordshire, where I contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes. My role focuses on developing future educators, supporting research-led teaching, and working in partnership with schools to enhance teacher development.
Prior to joining higher education, I held a variety of leadership roles in schools, ranging from Phase Leadership to Head of School. My experience spans all phases of primary education and diverse school settings, allowing me to develop expertise in curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and school leadership.
As part of my ongoing work, I engage in teacher training research, with a particular focus on adaptive teaching and ensuring that all children’s diverse needs are met. I am passionate about equipping educators with the skills to tailor their teaching to support every learner, creating inclusive and responsive classroom environments. My work emphasises bridging the gap between research and practice, ensuring that evidence-based approaches inform teaching and learning to maximize pupil outcomes.
