Research
The School of Education has a long-standing tradition and reputation for research-led teaching and learning. We have two affiliated research institutes: the Institute for Research in Education (iREd) and the Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment (CRELLA).
Our research at iREd has a particular focus on the dynamic between theory and innovative teaching practices. Our intended aims are to contribute to the work of colleagues in practice and inform public policy across a range of educational disciplines.
In the field of English language and literature, CRELLA is recognised as world leading by the Research Excellence Framework (REF, 2021) and is a global leader when it comes to language assessment research.
