Liela Elmousawi
BA Applied Education Studies, 2014-2018
Current role
I completed my teacher training year and gained QTS at the end of the last academic year, and I am now an NQT in an Infant School in Luton.
How my course benefited me
As well as gaining a degree, the course enabled me to believe in myself and my aspirations. I gained new skills and knowledge which allowed me to grow and progress, and I obtained lifelong friendships.
Campus life
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at campus – it was something that I looked forward to each week. The beautiful building and surroundings made the experience even more rewarding.
A further highlight of my day at campus was being greeted by the lovely staff. I really miss the warm tasty meals that made me happy, fulfilled and ready to learn.
What I most enjoyed about my degree and studying at the University of Bedfordshire
I enjoyed the different aspects of learning. The tutors always brought different experiences each week which kept the learning interesting. The experience exceeded my expectations and I miss it very much.
A memorable moment/s
Graduation! Sharing my achievement with my family, friends and tutors at the wonderful campus that is Putteridge Bury is one of my biggest achievements, and a moment I will never forget.
My future aspirations
I started my career as a teaching assistant. I progressed to a HLTA and I have fulfilled my aspiration of becoming a teacher. I now know that anything is possible and doors are open for further opportunities.
My top tips for current students
Use your time wisely. Create a plan/timetable. Allow/make time for yourself. Use the support that is there and in place. The tutors, the friends that you make, your colleagues at work are invaluable, and they are there to support you, should you need it.
