Dr Daniel Leon Pottie
Lecturer in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering
Dr. Daniel Pottie was awarded his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG – Brazil) in 2016 and 2019 respectively. His master’s dissertation covers the thermodynamic modelling of a hybrid Pumped-Hydro Compressed Air Energy Storage (PH-CAES) system.
Following, in 2023 he was awarded his PhD. in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, researching the energy conversion and exergy destruction, as well as bespoke turbomachinery design in Adiabatic CAES systems.
From Jan-2023 to Sep-2024, Dr. Pottie worked as Research associate and Research Fellow at Loughborough University and the University of Birmingham. In September 2024, Dr. Pottie joined the University of Bedfordshire as a Lecturer in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.
