Accursio Dimino
Lecturer in Construction
Accursio joined the University of Bedfordshire in 2014 as a Visiting Lecturer and was appointed full-time in 2018.
Before joining the University of Bedfordshire, he worked at Moulton College as a Lecturer in the Built Environment and NVQ Assessor for their Apprenticeships programmes in Construction Management, working closely with students, candidates, and their employers.
Accursio began his career in the construction industry as an apprentice bricklayer (indentured). Through the regional brickwork competitions, he became a member of the Education Committee of The Guild of Bricklayers (Southern Region). Accursio began running competitions for our local region, producing competition drawings and a brief spell in judging.
Accursio started his first teaching role at 21. At 25, he travelled to Australia and worked there for 18 months on a mix of residential and commercial buildings. First working on schedules and programmes and then in management on a commercial project for Murdoch University consisting of student accommodation and lecture theatres.
In the UK, he worked as an Assistant Site Manager with Design and Build Company, before starting up his own successful business in building contracting and development.
He held several lecturing posts, taking on responsibilities for the quality and management of courses. Due to his success, he became Programme Manager for Construction Management programmes and then Deputy Head of Construction.
Accursio graduated in teaching with Cert Ed (Certificate in Education) at the Lady Spencer Churchill College, was awarded the HEA (Associate Membership to the Higher Education Academy) and more recently, Academic Professional.
In 2002, Accursio graduated with BSc (Honours) in Building Processes and was awarded the ICIOB. The following year, he graduated with a BA in Professional Studies in Post Compulsory Education at Oxford Brookes University.

- Research on Continuous Professional Development (CPD), specifically looking at skills gap, currency and relevance of the CPD process.
External Activities
- Accursio is a member of ‘British Cycling’ and takes part in both leisure and sporting events.

- Assessor in Construction Management 2015-2018.

- Incorporate of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) 2002.
