Robotics and AI Students get stuck in!
First year Robotics and AI Students get stuck in to the models, 3D printers, equipment and facilities in our new STEM building.
Makers Lab
The Machine Workshop and Product Design lab is also known as a Makers lab. The lab provides both traditional subtractive manufacturing, that is machines that cut material to produce a component, e.g.
- Lathes
- Mills
- Drills
- Saws
This Makers Lab also has additive manufacturing, that is machines that add material to produce a component, e.g.
- 3D printers
The Robot End Effector, (i.e. a gripper for a robot arm), shown in the gallery images above has been designed and 3D printed by our student Cornelia who is demonstrating how it works herself, rather than it being attached to a robot arm.
Facilities
All of our Computer Science and Technology students enjoy an extensive range of facilities and equipment available to them within our:
- CST Labs
- STEM building
