I am a third year in automotive engineering. I have had a love and involvement in Motorsport since a young age, and Formula Student is a great way for university engineers to get involved in Motorsport early. I hope to further my career in Formula 1 eventually, as a Performance engineer.

Hi, my name is Poojitha. I am an International Student from Sri Lanka in my third year who is very excited and interested in working on the formula student project. I have experience in the automotive industry as a mechanic and help building race cars in Sri Lanka. I am excited to take on this project as it would allow me to work and help my team and university compete among other universities in the UK. I believe my experience in the field would be quite helpful here.

I am currently studying automotive engineering at UOB in my first year. I chose this course as I've had an interest in cars and motorsport from a young age, and after working for a few years after education I decided that I would follow my interest and passion in cars and motorsports and try and turn that into my career. I am currently involved in several projects other than formula student within the university from working on the Sinclair c5 that broke the land speed record (The Alien) as well making a display out of broken Mazda engine. I am part of formula student for several reasons firstly it gives me a chance to apply the knowledge that I learn in classes in a practical way, as well as getting to design a race car from the ground up with a lot of freedom for different ideas. Secondly is it gives me opportunities and experiences that would not be possible in classes alone such as working in a team with the same goal of making the fastest car around the circuit, and hands on experience designing and making the car from scratch. With this I hope to gain valuable knowledge and experience in a motorsport setting which I can use with my degree to peruse the career in motorsport. 

I’m Myles, a Foundation year student in Mechanical Engineering. My goal is to work in motorsport one day and I believe that Formula Student alongside my course, will help me get there. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of myself through this experience, discover what I enjoy most and clarify the direction I want to take in my future career.

I am a Second-year electronic and electrical engineering student; I studied electronic engineering as I’ve always been interested on how things work since I was young and it blends in my interested in problem solving, sparking my interest how electronic systems work.
