Keren Coton
Lecturer in Professional Policing
Having recently completed 30 years police service with Bedfordshire Police, performing a wide range of roles, from uniform, detective, crime training, secondment to the National Crime Agency, and most recently as a Detective Sergeant working within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit as the Family Liaison Coordinator managing a large number of officers who deploy to those families who have lost loved ones following murder/manslaughter investigations.
I have been interested in teaching within the Police Environment and have been a crime trainer from 2007 -2010. I have continued teaching family liaison officers over the last 5 years and in 2016-17 I completed a degree in Applied Investigations, which supports investigative roles within policing. I have developed a keen interest in Family Liaison and the deployments of officers to complex investigations.
I have recently taken up my position as Lecturer in Policing in 2022 and enjoy adopting a creative and innovative approach to teaching
