Fantastic Noise - the Future of Radio

Hosted by Terry Lee, the coordinator of the University’s community radio station Radio LaB, speakers included the Chair of the Student Radio Association Naomi Oiku, Senior Lecturer in Radio at Bedfordshire Dr Lawrie Hallett, and Luke Moore from podcast The Football Ramble.

Building Bridges: Fostering Intercultural Engagement and Embracing Diversity

The event was chaired by Professor Alexis Weedon, Director of RIMAP (Research of Institute of Media Art and Performance), who was joined by academics including Dr Jane Carr and Dr Violet Cuffy plus guest speakers, Chief Executive at Global Carnivalz Ltd, Pax Nidi and Dr Nazia Khanum OBE DL, Chair United Nations Association-Luton.

Pathways to Health and Wellbeing through Physical Activity

The team from the University’s Institute for Sport & Physical Activity Research took guests through the range of ‘pathways’, such as high-intensity interval training or low intensity walking, explaining how these activities could enhance our health and wellbeing.

Led by academics from the University’s world-leading research centre into child sexual exploitation (CSE), the Beds Talk aimed to provide a platform for discussions around the topic of CSE.
