The assessment of an episode of care
Clink on the link to the ‘Guide to using the MYEPAD’ below:
- Go to page 20 and read the instructions relating to the Episode of Care.
- For each part (part 1, 2 & 3) create an Episode of Care based on your role, practice, patients or service user group for a notional/imaginary 1st, 2nd and 3rd year student based within your clinical or therapeutic area.
- Suggest ways in which you could ensure that the assessment would be holistic.
- Review each Episode of Care and map it against each of the NMC platforms.

- What are my thoughts and feelings about becoming a Practice Assessor?
- What concerns do I have about being a Practice Assessor?
- What concerns do I have about other people involved with students?
- Who can help me make sense of the role of a Practice Assessor?
- What impact have my values had on my support of students?
- What impact has my level of confidence had on how I support students?
