Part 2: Practice Assessor
Introduction
Part 2 is open to all registered midwifery staff (once preceptorship competences have been returned for newly registered midwives) and have completed Part 1.
Learning outcomes
By the end of Part 2 you will be able to:
- Identify how to make an objective assessment and what makes an assessment unreliable.
 - Describe the different types of assessments and how these are recorded.
 - Identify reasonable adjustments within assessment.
 - Identify the differences between action planning and development planning and the support available.
 - Evaluate the grading criteria and identify how to standardise the assessment.
 - Demonstrate the ability to become a reflective assessor and how to evidence personal development.
