Exciting update: Library laptop loans

New and improved laptop access at the library!

We’re making some changes to how students borrow laptops. This is all about giving students better, faster, and more reliable devices when you need them most.

Our self-service laptop lockers are being retired. Instead, students will now be able to borrow newer, more powerful laptops directly from the library customer service desks in Luton and in Bedford between 08:30 and 18:00, Monday to Friday.

Great news for students

  • Upgraded devices: enjoy faster performance and better battery life with our latest laptops.
  • Personal support: our friendly library team is here to help students get set up quickly and answer any questions.
  • More reliable access: no more locker malfunctions or tech hiccups - just easy borrowing.

Laptops will be available from the library Help Desk during staffed hours. Students please check the library website or signage for current opening times outside of term time.

Technical Support Office

Please note: The Technical support office is now situated in B103 located on the B100 corridor.

Saving your Work

Please Note:

Please be aware the hard drive on the PCs in all CECI labs are wiped on a regular basis.

Please ensure you save any work to OneDrive. You can access OneDrive via your student email account, each student is allocated 1TB storage. Thank you.

You can now use our PC's even when the CECI Labs are closed!

CST PCs in the Learning Resources Centre

We now have 8 of our PC's located within the Learning Resources Centre. These can be found on LRC L2 (level 2). These PC's have the same software installation as our generic PC's in the CST Labs.

New Events Section

Student Opportunities

We are looking for dynamic students to help with open days by demonstrating software and applications in the CST labs and being available to answer prospective students' questions. Please see: Open Days

Please Note

The CST labs are for the sole use of students undertaking computing units within the School of Computer Science and Technology.

These computing facilities are in addition to the resources within the excellently equipped LRC (Learning Resources Centre)
