Escape (Zimbabwe 2016) is a film noir fairy tale. Drawing from Western traditions as well as African mythologies, it features intercultural and dramatizes encounters in the form of an intercultural mix of cinematic genres. Form and content complement each other: the result is a collaborative creation effort that offers a different perspective on such subjects as post-colonialism, memory and history, race and gender.

Escape is the first feature film of Thinking Films, a collaborative partnership between Piotrowska and Njagu. Shot and set in Harare, Zimbabwe, the film was premiered at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival in 2016 to great crowds and critical acclaim. Nominated for nine awards including the Best Picture and Best Director, it won Best Actor: Eddie Sandifolo and Best Actress: Nothando Nobengula. In 2017, the film was nominated for the best full length production at the National Music and Arts Awards in Zimbabwe.

Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska is an award winning documentary film maker best known for her acclaimed documentary Married to the Eiffel Tower (2008). Recently, she has made 4 fiction shorts in Zimbabwe as well as an acclaimed documentary Lovers in Time or How We Didn't Get Arrested in Harare (2015). She also writes books about psychoanalysis and film.
