About the course

We live in the digital age, facing an increasingly digital future. This forward-looking course shapes you into a creative digital professional by following a unique, problem-solving ‘two pillars’ approach that puts you at the leading edge of financial technology (Fintech). First, it equips you to tackle the biggest challenges facing the financial sector, particularly around increased regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction. Second, the course gives you the tools to use Fintech to build a more sustainable future. Using a hands-on approach, you develop innovative solutions to real-world problems using real-time, transformative digital technologies including AI, big data, machine learning, blockchain, cryptocurrencies and cybersecurity.

In the Fintech Guest Lecture series, we collaborate with academics and experts at the forefront of financial technology across a wide range of industries, who share their knowledge and practical experiences with you.

Whether a start-up company or a long-standing firm, many corporations have already started to implement Fintech in their business operations and are achieving an increase in the speed and efficiency of their operations as a result.

Typical career routes for graduates of this course might take you to roles within long- standing financial companies including banking, insurance and regulatory bodies; UK and international financial and governmental institutions; consulting firms; and academia, where you could progress to further PhD studies.

Roles include financial or business analyst; environmental, social and governance (ESG) consultant or analyst; Fintech innovator; social innovator; social business modeller; impact investor; and data scientist.
