Free Competition Terms and Conditions
1. By entering the competition for British Science Week you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions.
2. The competition is being run by the University of Bedfordshire Access and Outreach Team (“the University”).
Eligibility to enter
3. The competition is open to entrants who have chosen to submit a video demonstrating a home experiment of their choice based on the theme of British Science Week.
4. In entering this competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.
5. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.
6. The competition is free to enter.
How to enter
7. The competition will include a video entry of person completing an experiment at home and who leave their email address of confirmation that they wish to be entered into the competition.
8. The competition will open on Friday 5th March 2021 and deadline for entries will be Friday 12th March 2021 at 5pm. Any entries after this deadline will not be accepted.
9. The University will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.
The prize
10. The prize will be three Amazon vouchers or a number of vouchers to the value of £50.
11. The University’s use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.
12. The winners will be chosen by panel of judges from University.
13. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
14. We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
15. The decision of the University regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
Winner announcement
16. The winner will be notified on or before the close of business Monday 15th March 2021 via the email provided during subscription.
17. The University will attempt to contact the winner by email twice. If the winner fails to acknowledge the first email a second (final) attempt to contact will be made.
18. If the winner does not respond to the emails notifying them of their win within 14 days of the second email, they will lose their right to the prize, and the University reserves the right to choose and notify a new winner.
Receipt of the prize
19. Please allow 14 days for delivery of the prize. This will take the form of a code, redeemable through Amazon.
Data protection and publicity
20. By submitting an entry to this competition, you agree to any personal information you provide in entering the competition being used by the University for the purposes of administering the prize draw, and for those purposes as defined within our privacy notice.
21. All entrants may apply for details of the winning participant by emailing roisin.kendall@beds.ac.uk
22. The winner agrees to the release of their name to any other competition participants if requested in accordance with paragraph 21 above via the University.
23. The University does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the competition or being selected for a competition.
24. The University reserves the right to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice.
25. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
