Online events and final conference
Macra na Feirme, the coordinator of the Land Mobility project, hosted two online events 22nd and 29th November and a conference on 9th December 2021.
During the Learning Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) events partners discussed, reviewed and evaluated current entrepreneurship curriculum and resources; methods/materials to further training materials development; animated educational video; the implications for project material.
The LAND-MOBILITY project aimed to promote initiatives and innovative concepts surrounding the land mobility services in European Union countries. The project promoted agricultural land staying in the sector and a continuation of the EU family-like farming model. The project team did so by developing training materials and guidelines for farmers, landowners, authorities and advisors in the area of land mobility services, land management partnerships and farm take-over brokerage.
Online Conference were hosted by the European Landowners’ Organization, Belgium. The event brought together key stakeholders from agricultural sector in UK, Ireland, Poland, and Belgium. The participants provided their views on challenges faced by landowners and shared their experience and feedback on training needs and support. They welcomed the project outputs:
- info pack on guidelines - for how to establish a land mobility service step by step, including a checklist and other potential materials
- animated educational video - raising awareness of different concepts of land mobility and the enormity of the problem of access to land that faces European young farmers
- open access training materials - including animated slides and a mobile training application for land mobility brokers and advisors, as well as training materials for providing information on important topics to the farmers themselves (both successor and predecessor).
William Kingston from County Cork, Ireland, is one of the Land Mobility Service User. He runs a family dairy farm and believe that 'farming is as good as you make it. There's huge potential in farming if the attitude is right.'
