The European funded research project 'Building Virtual Learning Platform for Environmentally-Friendly Digital Transformation Management' (DigiVIP) held the International Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, on 18th May 2023.

The DigiVIP project was launched by the international consortium in June 2021 to develop a digital transformation management curriculum and learning materials with a focus on "environmental sustainability" standards. As the project comes to an end, the consortium was delighted to have the opportunity to launch DigiVIP outputs:

• E-learning platform
• Relevant content for MSc curriculum, modules, and online courses
• Digital toolkits with augmented reality
• Report on skills needs analysis for green digital transformation management
• Guidelines on green digital transformation initiatives and best practices in manufacturing industry

The conference was attended by more than 70 members of staff from Istanbul University and other Turkish HEIs, lecturers and teachers, researchers and representatives of business companies.

Assist. Professor Ilhan Dogan, the project coordinator, opened the conference followed by the speech from the Rector of Istanbul University, Prof Mahmut Ak. Professor Ak stressed an importance of this research for the business companies to be competitive and to have the digital skills necessary to exploit the use of latest and emerging digital technologies. Addressing the scope of UN’s sustainable development goals, the project helped to raise awareness on digital transformation for environmentally sustainable business.

The project partners gave several presentations on all project deliverables, each followed by interactive Q&A sessions.

The conference was the last in the series of events associated with the project which was led by Istanbul University (Lead partner, Turkey) in partnership with University of Bedfordshire (UK), Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (UK), Fachhochschule Bielefeld (Germany), and two business partners in Turkey (Istanbul Maden Ve Metaller Ihracatci Birlikleri and Bizpark Bilisim San. Tic. Ltd. Sti.).
