Professor Duan and Dr Cao visited Mus Alparslan University, Turkey

Both Professor Yanqing Duan (BISC) and Dr Guangming Cao visited Mus Alparslan University from 8th to 10th May 2019 in the context of the Erasmus+ programme-Key Action 1 - Mobility for learners and staff - Higher Education Student and Staff Mobility.

During their time in Mus, they met staff and students and delivered speeches. Professor Duan delivered a talk on Artificial Intelligence for Business Decision Making in the Era of Big Data: Challenges and Research Agenda. Professor Duan provided an overview on the evolution of AI and its rapid expanding as a result of the rise of super computing power and Big Data technologies, and shared her views on the challenges associated with the use and impact of revitalised AI based systems for decision making and offered a set of research propositions for Information Systems researchers

Dr Cao introduced UBBS and its MSc courses and presented an overview of how the six week block unit structure works and is enhanced by the flipped classroom model, thereby helping students to develop their knowledge and employability skills.

Over 70 students and staff from the Business and Management Faculty in the University attended the presentations and commented that this event was their first experience of “internationalising the campus” which was seen to prompt new pedagogical methods and research collaboration.
