Dr. Elena Iarmosh, Dean of the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Educational Technologies and Dr. Babenko Christine, Head of the Management Department spent a week in UoB. During their visit, their activities in the UK included:
- Meeting with the Executive Dean of the business school Debra Leighton: Debra gave them an overview of the Business Faculty and of our recent achievements. The meeting also mentioned about possible collaboration in teaching projects.
- Tour to UoB Library: Elena and Christina looked at all the 6 levels of our library. They were certainly very impressed by the creative facilities and learning resources for the students.
- Tour to Luton Town Centre: Elena and Christina had a short tour in the Town Centre and learned about the history of Luton.
- Attending a presentation by Innovation & Enterprise Services (IES) on "Developing relationships with businesses and external organisations.
- Observing a UG lecture on Strategic Media Planning by Dr Katherine Baxter. They found the experience very interesting saying that the teaching was interactive in a small class.
- Observing part of the Entrepreneurship and Leadership of Business Ventures session. The session was focused on developing business vision and developing product and selling. The students used Lego and this was the first time our visitors had seen this used in class. It led to some interesting discussions about our differing student cohorts. They were really interested in its use.
To sum up the visit, Dr Iarmosh remarked:
We are very grateful to the project team of the University of Bedfordshire, represented by Yan Duan, Yongmei Bentley and Patricia Wilson for a carefully planned and well-organized visit, and look forward to further fruitful cooperation.
