Quiz Night

The Business & Management Research Institute (BMRI) has organised an interdisciplinary one-minute thesis presentation event for networking/socialising (Quiz Night) on July 4th, 2018. The event took place in Metro Bar, Luton campus.

Speakers included: Amine Bejhih and Ioana Stoica (BMRI PGR Reps); Ndifreke Nyah and Hosam Mohamed Sayed Darwish (RGS PGR Reps).

The agenda of the event commenced by the One-Minute Thesis Presentation Competition where all research students took part. After each presentation there was a time for question/answer interactions with the audience and advice/feedback from colleagues and supervisors. After the presentations, the audience was given time to network and socialise. The best three presentations award successively went to:

  • 1 Nashat Al-Masri (BMRI): Importance of External Audit Quality
  • 2 Richard Majidadi (BMRI): Project Management Practices in the Public Sector in Developing Countries
  • 3 Priyanka Verma (RIMAP): Representation of Women in Bollywood

The aim of the event was, firstly, to shatter walls between research disciplines in the University of Bedfordshire, by bringing research students from different departments and knowing what their research interests are and get them socialise with each other to inspect common research interests. Secondly, to help students building confidence and research charisma in front of the audience through the One-Minute Thesis Presentation challenge.

The event was attended by staff members from RGS and other research schools, as well as PGR research students from different research departments/schools such as RIMAP, IRAC, CRELLA and IHR.
