Abbas Al Lawati
Abbas studied by supported learning in conjunction with Majan College in Muscat, Oman
Abbas studied on the Bedfordshire MBA at Majan College in Muscat, Oman. His determination and commitment resulted in him being awarded a Master of Business Administration in June 2012.
Abbas chose the Bedfordshire MBA because of the convenience of study through blended learning, requiring attendance only during weekend Business Schools.
More than the programme having an immediate impact on his career, Abbas chose to do the MBA as it was his personal ambition. His daily study routines paid off during the programme, as Abbas was able to use newly acquired skills in his work:
“I had a recent assignment on auditing the quality department and it needed involvement with ISO 9001:2008, and I already had a good background of it, gained from the quality management chapter in Operations Management module.”
Abbas hopes that completing the programme will help him progress in his career in near future, especially seeing the impact the programme had on how he works through enabling him “to recognize the variety of leadership styles being practiced in [his] organization and people in [his] department.”
The programme has also helped Abbas develop as a person:
“It made me interested in business magazines, journals, and articles. As an Internal Auditor who needs audit all the Bank’s departments, the MBA program helped me understand the functions of different departments which has robust my business exposure.”
