Faculty / school teaching principles
Different disciplines can have different approaches to learning, teaching and assessment and different PSRB requirements. The curriculum framework encourages the use of discipline-specific pedagogies. These approaches are often described as signature pedagogies (Shulman, 2005). They define what counts as knowledge within a discipline and the teaching and assessment practices that are expected or are common.
Beyond discipline-based approaches to learning and teaching, schools and faculties may wish to adopt particular approaches to support student learning and wellbeing. As examples, such approaches might include relational pedagogy, a focus on belonging and community building and so on.
