Pedagogy
The Curriculum Framework outlines the university’s approach to teaching, learning and assessment. The framework highlights that:
- Learning is co-created with learners and other stakeholders.
- Learning is inclusive to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Teaching and learning practices should be engaging for all learners.
- Assessment is authentic and supports learners to develop graduate skills and attributes.
- Learning supports the development of employability and equips learners to thrive in their future careers.
A key aim of teaching and learning at university is to transform the ways that students see the world and themselves. Good teaching transforms their understanding of the subject they are studying, develops skills to support their future and should be based on specific disciplinary practices. To achieve this, courses at the University of Bedfordshire are underpinned by pedagogical theory and practices which engage students in learning. With a specific focus on:
Challenge-based learning - activities address real life local and/or global scenarios
Faculty/school teaching principles - bespoke to specific subject and/or Professional Statutory Regulatory Body requirements
