Dr Julie Brunton, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience)

Julie Brunton

Julie joins us from Sheffield Hallam University where she was one of three Associate Deans for Teaching & Learning, leading this portfolio area for the university for around 33,000 students.

As Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning, in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences Julie most recently led the College teaching, learning and quality processes through the pandemic; and led institutionally as part of the University Teaching & Learning Leadership Group. Before this Julie was Assistant Dean Student Experience in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Arts.

Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam, Julie was Director of Sport and Physical Education at the University of Nottingham’s overseas campus in Ningbo, China.

Julie is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) and her academic background is in sport, exercise and health science. Known both nationally and internationally for her work in university sport and physical activity, Julie is the past Chair of the UK Sport Development Network (UKSDN), and is currently the founder and Chair of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Research and Impact Group.
