University of Bedfordshire Access and Participation Plan

Access and participation plans set out how higher education providers will improve equality of opportunity for traditionally underrepresented groups to access, succeed in and progress from higher education. They are regulatory documents and the Office for Students will monitor our progress against meeting the commitments to students that have been set out in the plan.

We are a widening participation institution with a diverse university community. We are committed to leading the way in improving social mobility, providing outstanding educational opportunities, and ensuring success for students from all backgrounds and identities.

Please note that we will increase fees subject to the maximum fee limits set by government regulation. We are awaiting further guidance from the Office for Students regarding the application of a new maximum fee limit following the Government announcement in November 2024 and therefore the 2025-26 fees referred to in the Access and Participation Plan will be updated in due course.

Please refer to the Fees and Funding section of the website for the most up-to-date information.

Access Agreements approved by the Office for Fair Access (OFFA)

The Office for Fair Access ceased operation in April 2018. From 1 April 2018 responsibility for regulating fair access to higher education in England sits with the Office for Students

The Office for Fair Access (OFFA) was an independent, non departmental public body which aimed to promote and safeguard fair access to higher education for under-represented groups following the introduction of variable tuition fees in 2006-07.

Local Authorities are no longer responsible for processing loans, these are now dealt with by the Student Loans Company.
