How we make decisions
The University's committees are a core component of our governance structure and decision making processes. They ensure decisions are given full consideration and are formally recorded.
Additionally, they are used for consultation and communication, both internally and externally.
Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is the University's governing body. It ensures compliance with the statutes, ordinances and provisions regulating the University and its framework of governance and, subject to these, it takes all final decisions on matters of fundamental concern to the institution.
The Board has delegated authority to a number of subcommittees. These are:

- Nominations Committee
- Remuneration Committee
- Resources & Employment Committee
- Student Experience Committee
- Milton Keynes Campus Committee
Academic Board
The Academic Board is responsible to the Board of Governors and the Vice Chancellor for overseeing and regulating all academic activities, maintaining the academic standard of awards and enhancing the quality of educational provision.
The Academic Board delegates its work to a number of sub-committees:

- Overseas Partnerships Committee
