Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community, meet new people and learn new skills, whilst increasing your employability and helping you to stand out from the crowd.

Our volunteering projects are managed through the Careers Service. It’s easy to get involved – just set up a profile, telling us a little bit about yourself, including your interests and availability and we’ll match you to opportunities that can work alongside your current commitments.

Past volunteers have stated that volunteering in projects has helped to build their confidence and self-esteem. Many of the projects also include some form of training, which can help to improve your CV and teach you various transferrable skills. The Beds Students' Union Accreditation Scheme rewards you in “merits” for your volunteering, helping you to present your skills in a way that appeals to potential employers.

Our volunteers also receive a certificate from the SU to recognise the hard work and dedication that they have provided.
