In memory of Lucie Moore
We are so deeply saddened to share that our extraordinary and beloved friend and colleague Lucie Moore (formerly Shuker) has passed away following a sudden and unexpected cardiac arrest last week.
Lucie was based within the Safer Young Lives Research Centre at the University of Bedfordshire from 2011 to 2018 and continued to collaborate with many of us beyond this point. We feel immensely blessed to have counted her as a wonderful and brilliant colleague, but it is as a dear friend, to many of us, that her loss is felt most keenly.
Lucie was an absolute inspiration who shaped our work and thinking; wise beyond measure, creative and unendingly kind and generous spirited. Lucie’s never ending commitment to social justice - including her contribution to challenging violence, abuse and exploitation of children and young people - will be a key part of her legacy, one we will uphold in her name for ever. Her loss is devastating – to the community, the sector and all those who loved her. Our deepest condolences are extended to her family and friends to whom she was so devoted, and we hold them in our thoughts.
